Terms of Service

These are the terms that govern your use of AstroRight. They are written to be readable. The Privacy Policy is a separate document; this page covers what we and you each agree to.

1. The agreement

By creating an account in AstroRight or otherwise using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and to the separate Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

2. What the app is

AstroRight is a Vedic astrology app. It computes charts (kundalis), reads them through classical rules, presents the readings as themes for reflection, and surfaces the chapter of the canonical book each interpretation draws from. It is grounded in the Jyotisha tradition.

The app is offered for general informational and reflective purposes. It is not professional advice of any kind — see §5 below.

3. Your account

You sign in with a phone number and a one-time password sent to that number. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate birth data when you create a chart (the readings depend on it).
  • Keep your sign-in device secure.
  • Not impersonate another person or share your account.

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app — see §8 of the Privacy Policy for the deletion mechanics.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app to deceive others or to make decisions that depend on factual certainty about future events.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the app or our backend in bulk.
  • Resell, white-label, or commercially redistribute readings produced by the app without our written permission.
  • Use the app for anything illegal under Indian law or under the law of your country of residence.

5. Not professional advice

The readings in AstroRight are presented for cultural and reflective purposes. They are not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. Don’t use them as one.

Specifically: do not adjust medication based on a dosha reading. Do not skip a doctor’s appointment because Jupiter is favourable this week. Do not refuse a marriage proposal based on a single Ashtakoota score (which is why we never present one — see §6 of the Features page). Do not delay a medical procedure waiting for a Muhurta window.

We won’t tell you the future. We point a direction. Your actual decisions are yours.

6. Intellectual property

The AstroRight app, this website, the brand name, the logo, and the source code are owned by SailRight Tech. The classical literature itself is in the public domain; the modern textbook (Jyotisha — A Complete Study of Vedic Astrology) is copyrighted to its author, Mukul Bisen — we cite from it under fair-dealing for educational purposes.

You retain full ownership of your birth data and any notes or charts you create. We don’t claim any rights to it.

7. Service availability

We will work to keep AstroRight available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may release updates, change features, or take the service down for maintenance. We will give reasonable notice for material changes that affect existing users.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AstroRight (SailRight Tech) is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from your use of the app is limited to ₹1,000 (one thousand Indian rupees) or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months, whichever is greater. The app is offered free of charge, so this is typically ₹1,000.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

9. Termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate §4 (Acceptable use), with reasonable notice except where immediate suspension is necessary to protect other users or the service.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra.

11. Changes to these terms

If we update these Terms, we will update the effective date at the top and show an in-app notice on next launch. Continued use after the change means you accept the new Terms.
